Training on mushroom spawn production tech from June 13

The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CIARI here will conduct a skill development  training programme for educated youth, farming community and SHGs on Mushroom Spawn Production Technology at ICAR  Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sipighat from June 13 to 17 from 10 am to 4 pm to develop   entrepreneurship. The training programme will be  mostly on laboratory oriented  with skill development on handling the instrument,  selection and preparation of substrate, autoclaving, inoculation using laminar air flow and  handling of incubator.
The training will be imparted by the experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair. Mushroom spawn production Laboratory has already been established and technology  standardised  at KVK, Sipighat  under  the project “Production of Mushroom for Nutritional and Livelihood Security of Islanders” financed  by NABARD, Port Blair.

The minimum qualification for registration is Xth std. and the  selection will on first cum first serve basis. The course fee will be charged @Rs. 100 per candidate for five days course. A maximum of 20 participants will be selected for the training programme. After training the participants will be eligible to obtain loan from Bank to start the venture for their source of livelihood.
