Training prog. on waste pet bottle art, designing begins

To convert Waste to Wealth i.e Non-degradable waste including pet bottles which has tremendous scope of employment generation in these islands, Directorate of Industries has initiated a month long training programme on Waste Pet Bottle Art and Designing on Monday. The programme was inaugurated by Smti. Neha Bansal, Secretary (Industries) in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Industries. The Secretary (Ind) in her address stated that the volume of waste in the form of pet bottles is on the high end and its high time the administration takes appropriate steps to curb its side effects. Therefore as a beginning this training programme has been organized to convert waste into artefacts. She also stressed on the fact that the artefacts developed should have a feel of Andaman, which should further lead to mass production. Mr Ajit Anand, Director of Industries in his address said that this training will enhance the skill of the unemployed youths in generating employment and save the environment on the other hand. The trainer of the programme, Mr Mahanada Gomastha Artist/Designer of IP&T department made a small demo of the artefacts which imbibed lot of fervor among the participants. The Inaugural programme ended with vote of the thanks proposed by Mr A. Sinha Roy, EO(KVIB).
