Training Programme for PSTs

“Content Enrichment and Pedagogy” for Primary School Teachers for South Andaman Zone is being organised at Dr. S. Radhakrishnan District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) from 21st to 23rd September, 2017 at DIET in the form of a 3 day in-service training programme (Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Teacher Education) which was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Shubhankar Ghosh, DANICS, Deputy Director Education(Admn.), A & N Administration by lighting a lamp in presence of Mr. Maman Thomas, DEO, South Andaman and  Officers of Education Department.
The Chief Guest in his speech to around 55 participating PSTs from South Andaman Zone, stressed that education is a lifelong process and advised the participants to enrich their knowledge continuously and to be competent to face new challenges in the ever changing society and that education is not learning of facts, but training of the mind to think. He suggested the teachers to take personal interest and implement all the components taught during the training.
Ms. Anand Kumari, Principal, DIET who welcomed the Chief Guest, resource persons and the participants highlighted the significance of the programme and underlined  that we should be prepared always  to satisfy and fulfill the  expectation  of the parents and society.
Similar programmes are being organised for three days for Primary School Teachers (PSTs) from 21st September, 2017 at other seven zones which include Diglipur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Wimberly Gunj ,Car
Nicobar, Nancowrie and Campbell Bay. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Rakesh Arthur, Faculty DIET.
