Training on quality fish feeds held at Dharmapur

ICAR- KVK, N&M Andaman organized three days training programme on “Quality fish feeds and feed management in aquaculture” recently at Dharmapur under Shivapuram Gram Panchayat. The training was inaugurated in presence of Ms. A. Geeta Kumari, Ward Member, Mr. K. V. Jobi, Ward Member, Mr. B. L. Meena, SMS (Agronomy), Dr. Shailesh Kumar, SMS (Fisheries), PRI’s and participants. During the inaugural session Ms. A. Geeta Kumari and Mr. K. V. Jobi expressed their happiness for organizing utility based hands on training programme to farmers of this region. Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Course Directors of training programme briefed the participants about contents of trainings and apprised them about practical demonstrations and film show to be conducted during the programme.
In the technical sessions of training programme on “Quality fish feeds and feed management in aquaculture” topics were covered include Need for quality fish feeds in aquaculture, local feed ingredients, selection criteria for feed ingredients and formulation of fish feeds, equipments used for different types of feed preparation, feed management practices in aquaculture and common feeds used for animal production etc by the resource persons Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Mr. B. L. Meena, Er. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Shardul Vikram Lal and Mr. Prasant Pradhan.  Film shows on Preparation of fish feed and feed management practices in aquaculture were showed to the participants.  Preparations of pellet fish feed was also demonstrated to the participants during the programme. Altogether, 42 participants were benefitted from the training programme.
