Training on scientific paddy cultivation at Panchawati

A three-day training on “Scientific Cultivation Practices of Paddy” was organized at Panchwati, Rangat by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CIARI, N & M Andaman. The training programme was inaugurated by Mr Manero Mondal, PRI member. He lauded the efforts of KVK for organizing the training for the farming community of the area. Mr B.L. Meena (Agronomy) briefed about the training and urged the farmers and participants to adopt scientific approach for paddy cultivation which will enhance soil health and fertility, leading to increased productivity and food security.
Er. Manoj Kumar (Agrl.Engg) briefed the trainees on use of machinery and implements in paddy to reduce drudgery and save  the constrain of  time. Dr Pooja Kapoor, (Home Sc.) discussed about nutritional importance and value added products of paddy.
Altogether, 27 farmers were benefitted from the training programme. The training was organised under the supervision of Dr. B.L Kasinath, Sr. Scientist and Head. KVK, N & M Andaman and under the guidance of Dr.  S. Dam  Roy, Director, CIARI, Port Blair. Er. Manoj Kumar, SMS (Agril. Engg) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Pooja Kapoor SMS (Home Science) proposed the vote of  thanks.
