Training on VVIP, VIP security for police personnel

The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A & N Islands organized three day training programme on “VVIPs/VIPs SECURITY” including firing practice of small arms in two batches recently for the Police personnel of Security Cell & DHQ from the rank of PC to SI under the overall supervision of Smti. Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Principal, PTS, Prothrapur. The main objective of the course is to refresh the knowledge of the participants and proper implementation of procedures related to VVIPs/VIPs security aspects and its relevant issues. The course was inaugurated by Shri. K. Michael Raj, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS. During the course Shri. Nishant Gupta, DANIPS, SDPO South Andaman, Shri. K. Michael Raj, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS, Inspector Eliaza (Imm. & F), Inspector S.K. Sarkar, PTS, ASI Selvadurai, PS Humfrigunj and HC/Umer Khatab of Security Cell had delivered lectures on the topic like – General Principles of Security measures, MHA Guidelines for protection of VVIPs & VIPs. Threat perception and role of intelligence in VVIP/VIP Security, Basic imperatives of Proximate Security, Professional Ethics and Commitments of Personal Security Officers (PSOs), Concept and importance of Anti-Sabotage checking, Access Control, watcher in VVIP/VIPs security duties including Pilot & Escort Cars, Aviation Security at Airport/Helipad, Weapon Handling (Small Arms/AK-47) etc. Altogether, 42 Police personnel of Security Cell and DHQ participated in this course in two batches. At the end Vice Principal PTS concluded the training programme of both the batches on emphasizing the objectives/overviews of the course and its thorough implementation.
