Trng on scientific dairy farming, value addition of milk concludes

The seven day training on "Scientific Dairy farming and value addition in milk" organized by National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Cooperation), A & N Island unit concluded on Saturday. Dr. Nagesh Ram, Senior Scientist, Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Port Blair was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering he said that self help group is the best means for economic and socio-reform. The chief guest in his key note address appreciated the efforts of National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit for organizing such meaningful training for the ultimate benefit of women folk/members of self help group living at the grass root level of the society.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit has said that concept of self help group is much powerful as women folk get opportunity to work together by sharing their ideas and skill to achieve the ultimate target of economic liberation. Dr. N.C. Choudhuri, Assistant Chief Technical Officer, Krishi Vigyan Kendra in his address expressed his happiness towards the active participation of rural women in promotion of various income generating activities. Mr Anant Rao, General Secretary, A & N State Coop. Union in his address urged the needs of rural women to upgrade their skill to setup their own venture. The product prepared by the trainees during the training course was also displayed in the programme. 30 women members of self help group were participated in the training programme.
