Trng on Scientific Dairy Farming, Value Addition in Milk underway

A seven-day long duration training on "Scientific Dairy Farming and Value Addition in Milk" was inaugurated by Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharman, Chairman, A & N State Coop. Union which was organized by the National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Cooperation) A & N Island unit in association with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at Conference Hall, A & N State Cooperative Union on Friday.
In his address, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma said that skill development training in various sectors are the means of employment generation. He further said that A & N Island is heaving good scope of tourism, women members of self help group should also focus on upgradation of income generation based on tourism. Mr Sharma expressed his happiness towards the active participation of rural womens in various skill development programme.
Dr. N.C. Choudhuri, Senior Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra in his address expressed his happiness towards the active participation of women members of self help groups in the promotion of various income generating activities. He further added that through value addition in milk, women members of self help group can setup their own venture.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit has briefed about the role of NCUI in the field of women empowerment through promotion of self help groups. Altogether, 30 women members from different self help groups are participating in the training programme. Mr Naresh Ram, Cooperative Education Instructor, NCUI, Port Blair proposed the vote of thanks.
