‘Unity Cup’ volleyball

The State Open YCOB ‘Unity Cup’ Volleyball Championship 2017” was inaugurated by Mr Abdul Salam, Managing Director, Mansha Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd. on February 25 at Forest Ground, Tushnabad. He declared the Championship Season- IV open by hoisting the tournament flag. In his address, he lauded the efforts of Youth Club Ograbraj and PRI members for their active participation for conducting such a big event. He stressed on the need to stay united for achieving any objective and lauded Youth Club Ograbraj for its untiring efforts in bringing all section of the society together. Mr Salam also promised to extend any support to Youth Club that might be required in future for such events.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Smt. Zubaida Begum, ex-Chairperson, PBMC as guest of honour, while Mr Subir Chander, ex-Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mohammed Safique, Pradhan Mithakhari and Mr N.M. Bashir, Chairman, ARPAN were the special invitees. 
Altogether, 10 best teams from different district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are participating in the tournament. In the opening match Lee Boys, Haddo defeated YCOB in Straight Sets.
Earlier, Mohammed Safique, Padhan, Mithakhari Panchayat welcomed the gathering. Mr Safuwan, secretary, YCOB presided over the function. The tournament is being organized by Youth Club Ograbraj in association with Gram Panchayat Mithakhari and sponsored by Islanders Margin Free Canteen, Port Blair.
