Vigilance Awareness Week observed by ICAR-CIARI

Vigilance Awareness Week-2017 with theme “My Vision-Corruption Free India” was organized befittingly in ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair under the overall guidance of Dr. A. Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
The chief guest highlighted the need to inculcate the spirit of honesty and integrity in our day to day life. He mentioned that our efforts should be to become role model for our society for leading India towards a developed nation. He also gave away prizes to the winners of the events namely essay , painting and elocution in all categories.
Dr. A. Kundu,  Director, CIARI appreciated the programme and highlighted the need of high moral standards in public life and participation of all, to eradicate the corruption. The week long programme was organized by Dr. R. K. Gautam, Vigilance Officer & Organizing Secretary and Dr. P.K. Singh, Co- Organizing Secretary. Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Principal Scientist  of the Institute coordinated the valedictory function.
The awareness programme commenced with the pledge ceremony on 30-10-17 followed by lecture by Mr S.K Singh, Senior Administrative Officer.  Competitions on essay writing, painting, elocution for  staff and students from various schools and colleges in Port Blair were also conducted.
The valedictory function of the week long programme was held on 3-11-17 in which Mr Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Agriculture, Fishery & AHVS), A& N Administration was the chief guest.
