Walkathon to promote use of Bio-fuel by IOC

As part of World Bio-Fuel Day 2017 observance, the Indian Oil, Port Blair Terminal and National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS) jointly organized a Walkathon on Thursday here. The Chairperson of Municipal Council, Mr B Eswar Rao and Mr Prakash Tiru flagged off the walkathon which witnessed enthusiastic participation by around 150 including students, teachers of Andaman College, JNRM, Model School and employees of Indian Oil, Port Blair Terminal. The walkathon started from Netaji Stadium and culminated after passing through different parts of the city covering around 4 km during which the participants generated awareness using placards and slogans on energy conservation and use of bio-fuel.
Dr Kandi Muthu, District Representative, NYCS, coordinated the walkathon and highlighted the role of NYCS towards promoting use of biofuel across the country. The Assistant Manager, IT, IOCL also spoke on the occasion. The Chief Terminal Manager, Port Blair Smart Terminal and State level Coordinator, A & N Islands, Mr Praksh Tiru proposed the vote of thanks.
