Woman, truck driver suffers injuries in road mishaps in city

A woman aged around 31 years escaped with minor injuries in a road mishap at the arterial road stretch between School Line and Minnie Bay on Friday. According to reports, the woman, a resident of Bhatu Basti, riding a Honda Scooty, lost control over her vehicle and crashed with a heavy vehicle coming from the opposite direction at around 12 noon. The vehicle reportedly belongs to a top construction agency. The driver, however, managed to stop the vehicle from running over the woman. The injured woman was rushed to GB Pant Hospital where doctors immediately admitted for medical examination. The vehicle of the woman suffered major damages in the mishap, as per reports.
In another incident, a car driver hit a truck near VKV school today. As per reports, the traffic cops on challan duty stopped the truck driver for inspection of documents. While the truck driver disembarked after parking his vehicle, a car coming from the rear hit him and fled from the spot. The traffic police are on the hunt to nab the errant car driver. The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the mishap, said sources.
