There exists tremendous potential for exploiting these organic coconuts for development and promotion of high value products. Coconut cultivation has been increasingly reported to be profitable, when combined with value addition efforts. A number of improved technologies for diversified coconut products have been developed by various research Institutes and organisations in the country. To promote these technologies for increasing the popularity of coconut products and for developing entrepreneurship through coconut value addition, numbers of schemes are being operated by various stakeholders in other parts of our country. There is good scope for diversifying the product range through value addition efforts. The young entrepreneurs and other coconut stakeholders need to be made aware of the improved technologies available for tapping the potential of coconut sector in the islands.
