World Disaster Risk Reduction Day by IRCS

” Importance of Disaster Risk Reduction in Andaman & Nicobar Islands considering the Disaster of 2004 Tsunami and Role of Govt. and NGOs “  - was the topic of a Inter College speech competition on the eve of World Disaster Risk Reduction Day 2017 by Indian Red Cross Society, A & N Branch on October 13 at JNRM College, Port Blair.
Around 13 students from seven colleges took part in this speech competition. Dr. R. Thulasi Dasan, M.D., hon. general secretary, IRCS, A & N branch welcomed the students and highlighted the disaster risk in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Mr. Sandeep Sarkar, from JNRM secured first in the speech competition, Mr. Suresh Kr. Das from DIET came second and Ms. Abhishaik. A  from TGCE secured the third position. Shri. Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM, distributed the prizes. Miss. J. Sapna, DM Coordinator, Miss. D. Navina, First-Aid Trainer IRCS and Mr. K. Venket Ramana, NDRT Member A & N Branch facilitated the event.
