World Tsunami Day by A&N IRCS

On the eve of World Tsunami Day  (5th November  ) Indian Red Cross Society on at TGCE, Port Blair, organised a Speech Competition on the topic ‘Mangroves –Nature’s Shield against Tsunami’ participated by 14 students from seven  different colleges. Dr. R. Thulasi Dasan, M.D., Hon. general secretary, IRCS, A & N branch welcomed the students highlighting the Importance of nature’s role in tsunami. Chief guest Dr. J. D. Singh, Principal of TGCE spoke on the importance of World Tsunami Day in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on inaugurating the speech competition where Miss. C. Safeera Nasreen from DIET came first, Mr. Praveen  A. V. from Pondicherry University was second and Mr. Suresh Kr. Das from DIET stood third. Miss. J. Sapna, DM Coordinator, and Miss. D. Navina, First-Aid Trainer IRCS, A & N branch facilitated the successful event.
