World Water Day by IEI ANSC

World Water Day 2018 was celebrated by Andaman & Nicobar State Centre (ANSC) of the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) in association with APWD & PBMC on Thursday by organising Technical Presentations & Lectures on the theme, ‘Nature for Water’. Er. Arun Kumar, EE (Plg.), APWD made a presentation on this year’s theme blending the science of water with the old wisdom of past generations and the advise in religious texts highlighting the precious commodity and its conservation and also judicious use.
Er. T. N. Krishnamurthy, Chief Engineer & Administrator, ALHW and also Immediate Past Chairman of the Institution of Engineers (India), A & N State Centre made a presentation on Rainwater Harvesting. At the Interactive session, Past Chairman, ANSC, IEI, Er. Manohar Singh, FIE, Retired SE, Electricity Department and  Er. M. Balamurugan, MIE, Past Hon. Secretary of ANSC, IEI & T & CP, APWD and participating Engineers from many departments raised many queries on the ways and means to conserve water and to use it judiciously. Respective speakers gave answer in a lucid manner and the session was very lively technically.  A large number of Engineers from various departments were part of the proceedings.
