Yoga training for Cancer, endocrine disorders underway

A two-day training for AYUSH Doctors and Yoga Instructors under Health Department, NAM & NHM (including RBSK) was jointly organized by the Directorate of Health Services and A & N State AYUSH Society at Auditorium, TGCE, Port Blair on ‘Yoga for Cancer and Endocrine Disorders’. The training was inaugurated on Friday by the Secretary (Health)/Mission Director (NAM), Dr. Monica Priyadarshini. She emphasized that yoga could prevent cancer and many endocrine disorders. This training will help the AYUSH Doctors and Yoga Instructors to promote Yoga Therapy for the prevention of such diseases. The Director of Health Services, A & N Administration, Dr. S.P. Burma was the guest of honour. He highlighted the role of yoga in physical, mental and social well being. The resource person, Mr Yogi Udai, Assistant Research Officer (Yoga), MDNIY, New Delhi will conduct the training for two days.
