Youth exchange programmes in South Sikkim

An Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme under the scheme "Ek Bhara Shreshtha Bharat"was held at Karek and Kabrey villages, Namthang, in South Sikkim on Tuesday. Organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra under the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in collaboration with Amardeep Club Tubdi Karek, a team of 45 youths from Delhi has visited Sikkim for five days. They have visited Malling village of North Sikkim and Sumin Village of East Sikkim, along with different parts of South District.
Villagers and the official of the club had welcomed to all the participants with offering of traditional khada and tika on the first day of the visit to South Sikkim. They have been accommodated in different house at Kabre, Karek and Alley villages.
During this Youth Exchange Programme, a friendly cricket match was been played between local youths of Sikkim and Delhi at Rubdi Toribari Primary School playground.  A cultural programme was performed by local youth artists and participants from Delhi. They also visited Namchi Chardhaam and Samdruptse as local site visits. Youths of Delhi appreciated the hospitality, sincerity and care and the development Sikkim has witnessed.
General Secretary of Voluntary Blood Donors Association of Sikkim  Deepak Rai addressed a session on voluntary blood donation and youths and District Youth Coordinator NYK Namchi Sangita Dahal talked about the role of youth in nation building   Youths of Delhi enjoyed Dipawali with a colourful programme. The formal valedictory programme was held at Kabrey Village.
Chief Guest of the programme Zilla Panchayat Member Yadunath Mishra talked about the rapid developmental works of Sikkim in all the sectors and he also highlight about organic mission of Sikkim and different schemes launched by government.
