Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karyakaram held

The Nehru Yuva Kendra here organized the Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karyakaram  at Panchayat Hall, Guptapara  on Sunday in association with  Gram Panchayat, Guptapara  and Indira Priyadarshini Youth Club, Guptapara, Netaji Youth Club, Manjeri and Pawan Youth Club, Mangulton. The Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karyakaram gives platform to motivate and encourage youth to strive for excellence in their respective fields of interest, enable them to realize their full potential and contribute to the nation-building process, develop leadership qualities among youth, to provide the members of Youth Clubs an opportunity to participate and address the contemporary socio-economic and development issues confronting local communities. “Bring them in the forefront as partners of development process in their villages, strengthen existing network of Youth Clubs and provide them recognition in society”, he said.
Mr Naresh Chander Lal, Padmashri awardee and ambassador of Swchhta Bharat Mission, Andaman & Nicobar Islands was the chief guest on the occasion. He elaborated on cleanliness, sanitation, disposal of waste, drug abuse etc. Smt. Appalnarasamma, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat of Guptapara was the guest of honour.
Mr Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, NCUI  shared  experience on role of youth action group and self- help group , to tackle identified issues confronting village life , local youths who have wished to take collective lead in addressing them  in to Youth Action Groups. Mr Biswanath Mondal, GTT spoke on topic of  immunization, preventive health, yoga  and primary school enrolment and  N. Balakrishanan, Associate Professor of JNRM elaborated on Panchayati Raj and Rural Development schemes linkages and skill development .
Earlier, Mr Kundan Lall, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair welcomed the gathering and urged youths to involve in sports activities.
