Mannan breaks silence, resumes attack on CM

5 Sep 2017

Speculations were rife over his strange silence regarding political activities of state. But Abdul Mannan, leader of opposition in the state made it clear today while feilicitating teachers in Raiganj today that he would not oscillate from his staunch anti-Trinamool Congress stand come what may.
In his characteristic note Mannan today blamed the chief minister Mamata Banerjee for the unrest in hill.
"It's her urge to occupy and control all and everything complicated situations in Darjeeling. She mostly plays a divisive politics. Now, she is trying to flare up the fire in Darjeeling by interfering into internal feud of Gorkha Jan Mukti Mitcham (GJMM) leaders Bimal Gurubhai and Binay Tamang," Mannan said.
He did not spare the CM for depriving the state government employees and teachers of long pending dearness allowances (DA).
It was being largely guessed by political experts that Mannan was quite unhappy with recent political proximity between central leadership of Congress and Trinamool. Some even claimed that the Congress veteran would, despite his sharp differences with chief minister Mamata Banerjee, would accept party's decision of going soft on Trinamool.
The leader of opposition felicitated nearly 200 teachers on occasion of the national teachers' day today.
Congress MLA of Raiganj Mihir Sengupta and other district Congress leaders of North Dinajpur were present in the programme. (EOIC)
