A passenger from Sikkim travelling on medical ground has been denied boardiing at Bagdogra airport though he had a fit-to-fly medical certificate by a private airline. The patient had been referred to the Christian Medical College, Vellore by the Central Referral Hospital, Gangtok, and issued with a medical certificate where it was clearly mentioned that patient was fit to fly. During booking the airline ticket it had already been mentioned that one of the passengers was travelling pm medical grounds and the online agency had issued the ticket without any hindrances.
After being sent back from the airport four days ago, the aggrieved passenger and his companion had to return to Siliguri and book their stay in a hotel from June 5 to June 10 until they got a train ticket to their destination. To get justice for the family, Thinley Gyaltsen Bhutia of Kabi, North Sikkim under Kabi Tingda Gram Panchayat unit will file a complaint in a consumer court. Chief Coordinator   Suresh  K Lama of Consumers Association of Sikkim  while talking with this correspondent said the patient had been harassed.
