And the Home and the Vigilance departments bore the brunt of the criticism levelled against the Vijayan Government. The growing perception, members participating in the debate on the performance of the government felt, was that there has been a breakdown in law and order.

On the last day of the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on March 24, Comptroller and Auditor General of India demolished the claim of the BJP ruled state government that Madhya Pradesh has ceased to be a "Bimaru Rajya".
The report which was tabled in the house pulled up the state government on two major counts. The two issues relate to health care, particular, in rural areas and various factors pertaining to Vyapam Scam.

Usually there is an annual Exim Policy after the general budget to align the export sops taking into the view the new taxes. But with the Goods and Services Tax rollout now more or less certain from July 1, 2017, it is quite possible that the Exim policy is deferred to take note of the implication of game-changing tax reform GST on exports before coming out with the annual foreign trade policy. Pakistan’s firm stand in curbing terrorism inside Pakistan, imported from Afghanistan, was made known by the Pak Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on the very first day of the one-to-one meeting with Afghanistan’s National Security Adviser, Hanif Atmar in London on March 15.
