National Consumer day observed

Federation of Consumers Association of Sikkim today observed the National Consumer Day at Panchasheel Bhawan , Jorethang, South Sikkim focussing on the theme,  “Timely Disposal of Consumer Cases”.  The day long programme was coordinated by the Naya Bazzar Jorethang Municipal Council (NJMC). Renowned Social Worker and a prominent Literary figure Mr  Dhurba Lohagun graced the occasion as a Chief Guest while social workers  A.K Chettri and  Harka Singh Subba attended as Guest of Honors, Special Guest Mr  Govind Lohagun,  Mr Manoj Subba among others.
Resource Persons from Sikkim State Consumer Redressal Commission, Gangtok, Reader, Mr Sagar Mani Dhakal and Joint Commissioner from Commercial Tax Division, Jorethang, and Mr Keshab Subba highlighted the basic consumer rights in the different subject issues to the teachers. Students of Jorethang Government Senior Secondary School, Naya Bazzar Junior High School and the local people were present to know more about the consumer rights and responsibilities.
FCAS has presented Concerned Consumer Award 2018 to the eminent Social Worker of the region, a senior citizen Mr Hari Bhakta Sharma for his contribution in the field of social works which he had been doing since ages.  In the meantime Certificates of the Participation were presented to the Schools, Cultural Groups, NJMC and the volunteers from the hand of the present dignitaries.
The programme was hosted by Chief Coordinator (State), FCAS ,  Suresh K. Lama, welcome speech was presented by Secretary, FCAS,  Mr Shekher Kathiwara, Quiz Competition conducted by Youth Member , FCAS, Miss Aditi Gupta, Questionnaire session coordinated by Youth Member, FCAS, Miss Rinzing Tamang and in the end vote of thanks delivered by Youth Member, FCAS, Miss Rubina Poudyal Chettri.
