43rd Raising Day of NHPC celebrated

The 43rd Raising Day of NHPC was celebrated by Regional Office, Siliguri recently. The celebrations were conducted at the premises of NHPC Limited, Vidyut Nagar. The Chief Guest, D.Chattophadyay, Executive Director, Region Siliguri inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the lamp in presence of S.K. Agarwal, HOP, TLD-III Power Station and other officers of NHPC and their families.
Extending a warm welcome to the invitees, employees and their family members, Mr Chattophadyay highlighted the achievement made by NHPC in the last 42 years as a pioneer organization in hydro power development with full capability to undertake hydro power projects of any size from concept to commissioning.
He further added that so far NHPC has completed 22 Power Stations with a total installed capacity of 6717 MW which includes 1520 MW through NHDC Limited – a Joint Venture of NHPC with Government of Madhya Pradesh. At present 3 projects with a total installed capacity of 3130 MW are under execution. In addition, the Company has 14 projects of 8503 MW capacity under various stages of approval. The credible position has been achieved through hard work put in by NHPCians and therefore on this 43rd NHPC Raising Day, he congratulated and complimented the entire NHPC family for keeping NHPC flag flying high. A mesmerizing cultural program was organized on the occasion by the Cultural Troupe from Odisha as well as by the BSF Band, Kadamtala, Siliguri.
Earlier in the day a Fest was also organized in the premises of Regional Office, Siliguri to commemorate the occasion, which exhibited the disversified culture of India. The Fest was inaugurated by Mousumi Chatterjee, wife of Mr Chattophadyay, Executive Director, Region Siliguri in the presence of Meena Agarwal, wife of Mr Agarwal, HOP TLD-III Power Station. Various sports and games were also organized during the occasion among children, ladies & gents. Prizes were distributed among winners and participants of various events. All the employees along with their family members were present to celebrate the occasion.
