Anita Pradhan awarded Tejaswini-2019 Naari Samman

Anita Pradhan, an entrepreneur and social worker was awarded ‘Tejaswini-2019’ at a function organized at  Marwari Palace, Sevoke Road, Siliguri on February 24. The function was presided over by Smt.Nilima Tyagi, president of BSF Wive’s Welfare Association. Other dignitaries included  Sunil Kumar Tyagi , DIG, Binda Ghosh, Bipin Gupta, Gopal Lama, Hanumanji Dalmia, Somnath Chatterjee, all eminent philanthropists and representatives of  Siliguri Udaya Society, Maheshwari Mahila Mandal, Sahu Mahila Parishad, Marwari Yuva Manch ‘ Muskan’, Terapanth Tarrai ‘Shakti’, Lions Club of Siliguri Pragati, Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina to name a few.  Pradhan was awarded with ‘Tejiswani Naari Samman 2019’ for her relentless
services towards the society and commendable contribution in promoting women empowerment. Pradhan imparted training/skill development to thousands of the unemployed/needy economically backward women of the hills, North Bengal, Sikkim and North East regions so as to enable them to be self-reliant. She has been actively involved in providing training in beauty, hair, make up and health care from the early age of 18 years and continues to do so for the last 30 years. Anita Pradhan has extended training free of cost to a large number of economically back wardwomen and helped them to support themselves and be self-reliant. She has been engaged in the
various programmes operated by State Governments and Central Governments for employment
generation. All her students are doing extremely well in their professions. Her trained students are gainfully employed in large numbers in the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and West-Bengal. Many of the students are beauticians and hair stylists in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. So far more than 3700 students have been trained and settled in employment by her. She continues to provide her services with social motive from her training center located at Shiv Mandir, Siliguri under name and style as ‘YPRO Training Academy’.
