CII Conference - Education: Industry Institute Interface

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) North Bengal organized a Conference on Education “Industry Institute Interface” in Siliguri today. The region has immense potential in Education, skill development.
The inclusive and sustainable growth of a region and a state largely depends on how public and private sectors work together to leverage the strength of higher education ecosystem for improving the overall human development and for creating a pool of high skilled man-power which can contribute to the social & economic development of state, said Rakesh R Sahay, Airport Director, Airport Authority of India, Government of India, Bagdogra while addressing the session of Conference on Education with the theme of Industry Institute Interface.
To generate awareness amongst local youth on employment linked skill-training opportunities in the region and outside and provide competencies that will enable local population to become self-employed. To ensure these innovations grow into job-creating commercial products and services, collaboration exist amongst government, industry, and academia, Airport Director added.
Some recommendation were also made during the sessions like CII to bring all the Educational Institutes in one platform and bridge the gap between the Industry and Institute and also to form a panel in Siliguri for the entire Institutes. CII to handhold/ facilitate the Incubation Centre in the Institutes in North Bengal.
Next programme should also be on Innovation and student to present their technology created like Drone, Robots etc. Entrepreneurship courses to be introduced in primary and secondary schools. (EOIC)
