Dengue claims one life in Siliguri

Doctor dies in a pvt nursing home

A homeopathic doctor in Siliguri died with symptoms of dengue on Wednesday. Fifty-five years old Dr Soumaya Darshan Dutta died in a private nursing home at Pradhan Nagar.
Dutta was admitted a week ago and was under treatment after doctors detected dengue with the findings of lab test.
The threat of dengue has spread in Siliguri and its surrounding.
Siliguri Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya has appealed people here to be alert and use mosquito nets and keep the locality neat and clean. Bleaching powder is being distributed among the people and awareness camps are being held every day.
Meanwhile patients with the complaint of fever and body ache are floating in large numbers at Siliguri hospital. The patients are forced to sleep in floor after the shortage of beds in the hospital.
The doctors are alert and working hard for the treatment of the patients even after the rush in the hospital.
