DPS-Fulbari formally launched

“We are very much hopeful that our new educational venture, Delhi Public School-Fulbari, will reach the apex in this region. We are already running DPS at Siliguri and Joka, Kolkata successfully. We are proud to disseminate the information that DPS-Siliguri, has been ranked 20th best CBSE school of the nation by esteemed Education World,” said Sharad Agarwal, the Pro Vice Chairman, DPS-Fulbari in a press meet organized in a hotel at Siliguri. The press meet was held to announce the formal launch of DPS, Fulbari. As informed, the academic session of DPS-Fulbari, is slated to commence from April, 2018.
“Bidya Bharti Foundation, the flagship under which, DPS - Siliguri, DPS - Joka, Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management, are functional, is committed to bring about best out of the students by concentrating on best teaching resources from the country,” he added.
Answering to a query, he explained the very rationale of opening up DPS in Fulbari, “We would like to reach out to Jalpaiguri, Belacoba, Haldibari, Rajganj areas. Fulbari is strategically located, as the East West Corridor is being built via Fulbari bypass. Eventually, Fulbari will be a significant part of the four-lane expressway. Moreover, Fulbari is easily accessible from Siliguri.” Agarwal asserted that the foundation will leave no stone unturned to meet the expectations of students and parents of this region.  
Addressing another query, he said that the borders from Bangaldesh are also welcome. The languages to be taught in DPS-Fulbari are English (first language), Hindi (second language), Bengali (second language), Nepali (second or third language). He further said, “We are planning to teach foreign languages like French, German and Chinese as well.” Previously, the admissions are open from nursery to class seven in DPS-Fulbari, as per the norms of CBSE. He said, “The students might get an opportunity to switch over from DPS-Siliguri to DPS-Fulbari without paying additional admission fees.”
Addressing the media persons, Shailender Kaur, Headmistress, DPS-Fulbari, said, “I have an extensive experience of 19 years in teaching. Our vision is to produce global thinkers.” She has written four books and she holds a masters degree in English from Kurukshetra University.
The sprawling 8-acre campus is situated amid lush tea gardens and comprises beautiful buildings with modern facilities. The campus will be equipped with a well-stocked library, modern science and computer laboratories, and facilities for sports and games including a half Olympic-sized swimming pool, badminton and lawn tennis courts and yoga hall. There will be playgrounds for cricket, football and throwball. Students will also get the opportunity to learn classical, contemporary and fusion dance and music in well-equipped spaces designed to hone their talents.
