Fake document racket busted in Siliguri, one arrested

CID team on Monday late night busted fake document racket after conducting raid at Siddhidata Variety Stores and Cosmetics at Natun Bazar under Dabgram near Siliguri.
The shop owner Goutam Sarkar (27) has been arrested and seized 35 numbers of forged mark-sheets, certificates of different persons of various educational institutions including that of North Bengal University.
Mark-sheets of West Bengal Higher Secondary were also recovered from his procession.
CID team also seized one Laptop, one lamination machine, one colour printer, and 31 numbers of forged rubber stamps of different institutions, Circle Inspector of police stations, Local councillor, Panchayat Pradhan, and officials of Driving Licencing authority.   
Some driving licenses which are suspected to be fake have also been recovered from the shop of Gautam Sarkar.
A case has been filed against Sarkar at New Jalpaiguri police station and police has started investigations if any other people are involved into the racket. (EOIC)
