Fake Nepali currency for Rs 8 lakh seized, one arrested in Naxalbari

In a joint operation by SSB and state police the Naxalbari police arrested one person  with fake Nepali currency for Rs 8 lakh on Saturday night from Naxalbari’s Raipara.
According to SSB officials four other people have fled after handing over the currency to one Manoj Acharya (56) a resident of Raipara under Naxalbari block.
This is the first incident where such a huge amount of fake Nepali currency has been seized from India.
Personnel from SSB’s 41 battalion of Ranidanga and Naxalbari raided a house in Raipara and seized the fake currency.
Police are investigating where the consignment had come from.
