A  two-day long ‘Chintan Sabha’ of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) under the leadership of Binoy Tamang today began at Sukuna near Siliguri.
Two hundred fifty-one leaders attended the meeting which started today afternoon. This is the first of its kind of gathering of GJM leaders from Hills, Terai and Plains after Binoy Tamang took over from Bimal Gurung as head of the outfit.
“The main intention of holding the ‘Chintan Sabha’ is to review party activities and make agenda for upcoming days. We will also devise our policies and discuss about political issues, party organisation, discipline and how to make political culture,” said Binoy Tamang before starting the meeting.
He suggested all political parties to organise similar type of ‘Chintan Sabha’ to establish good political culture in North Bengal.
Tamang said, “We will discuss about what we have achieved, where we have made mistakes and what next to do and also discuss on national politics.”
When asked about discussion on candidate for upcoming polls he replied, “I cannot comment on this right now. Whatever discussion will be held we will brief media on Friday evening after the meeting.”
