Leopard remains untraced

The adult leopard ‘Sachin’ that escaped from the enclosure of Bengal Safari, Siliguri yesterday could not have morning could not have been traced yet.
A massive haunt by forest guards from Darjeeling, Baikanthapur, Gorumara, Malbazar has been launched to trace the leopard but in vain.
According to forest employees the leopard climbed on the branch of a tree and jumped out of the enclosure. 
While two tamed elephants were brought in for the search operation, according to Park officials two more tamed elephants will be brought in for the operation. Six squad team from forest departments are keeping strict vigil from the tree top.  
On Wednesday Park was open for car safari but not a single visitor was allowed to roam around the restricted areas.
Rajendra Jakhar, Director of the Park said, “The leopard will soon be captured and till now there is no report of the animal attacking any other animal or a visitor.
"We hope to capture the leopard soon. The leopard has not attacked any animal or person till now," stated Rajendra Jakhar, Director of the Park.”
He also said that several cages have been set up to capture the missing leopard.
