Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Youth hosts Salaam India

On the 15th day of August, 2017, Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Youth hosted Salaam India - A Patriotic song singing competition at Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, Siliguri. The event was conducted so that students from schools and colleges across the city could come together to sing patriotic songs and bask in the glory of this great nation. A total of eight institutions participated in the event Amarpati Lions Citizens Public School, Gyan Jyoti College, Inspiria Knowledge campus, Siliguri Branch of ICAI to name a few.
The event saw students rendering patriotic numbers like Desh Rangeela, Dil dia hai jaan bhi denge, etc. Members of Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina and Employees of Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital enthralled the audience with their group song renditions. Winners of the Solo song category and group song category were awarded with trophies. The members of the club are young, dynamic  and have permanent projects Eye Donation Awareness (www.donatemyeye.com), Gift of Sight and Vidya gaman. Apart from this, the club has also organised other events regularly like eye checkup camp, debate competition, cleanliness program etc 
The Chairman of the project were Lion Sarabjit Singh Hora and Lion Vishal Agarwal. The members are supported by their spouses as well.

It is a fact to be noted that the average age of the members of the club are the youngest in the Lions District 322F which comprises 74 other clubs and more than 2200 members.
