Mother jumps from train after daughter fell from the door

A mother jumped from the running train after her minor daughter fell down from the door of Kanchankanya Express on Saturday night. Both of them have been admitted at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) but the condition of mother is said to critical.
The incident occurred when the train left New Jalpaiguri railway station for Rangapani station. Passengers screamed when the mother jumped from the train and learnt that her action came after her daughter fell down from the door. Manas Pal, father of the minor girl soon pulled chain to stop the train but when as it did not stop, his wife jumped from the running train. The train stopped after reaching Rangapani station. Aaheli Pal, aged about three years was however safe despite her injury.
Police force from Phansidewa police station rushed to the spot and recovered the injured mother and daughter and sent them to NBMCH. Police informed that a family of three members from Durgapur had boarded the train from NJP station. Train service was interrupted for few hours but returned to normalcy later.
