NBSJ’s appeal approved by the CM : Family of deceased photo-journalist to get a job

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee showed a humanitarian face by assuring a government job for one of the family members of a deceased photo-journalist while meeting the press at Uttarkanya on Thursday.
Rajkumar Modak, 37 of Falakata in Jalpaiguri died of a cardiac attack on February 28. He worked as a photo-journalist of a widely circulated vernacular daily. Sudden death of Modak landed his family of two toddlers and wife on utter financial hardships.
When Chandana Choudhury, a reporter of Prasar Bharati on behalf of Confederation of North Bengal & Sikkim Journalists (CNBSJ) drew the CM’s attention during the press-meet to the plight  Modak’s family was in, Mamata promptly responded with a positive attitude.
“One of his family members would get a suitable job. Arrange to send the matter in writing to my office,” Banerjee asked the CNBSJ officials.
Angshuman Chakraborty, joint convener of CNBSJ said, “We are thankful to the CM. Necessary papers would be sent according to her instructions immediately.”
The Chief Minister said at the press meet: “Members of the media are very close to us. We are ready to help them in all possible ways.” (EOIC)
