NCB officials warn against drug menace in an SSB workshop

Officials of the narcotics control bureau (NCB) suggested the guardians of the minors to be vigilant of the behaviour of their wards to save them from menace of drugs. NCB officials participated in an interactive session with the parents of kids during a workshop on drug abuse organized by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Susruta Nagar of Ranidanga on Friday.
“To allure the kids the drug mafias have launched various synthetic drugs in forms of chocolates and the parents have to take extra responsibility to check the behaviour of their wards,” said N Mandal, a senior NCB official.
NCB officials illustrated how the money earned by circulating drugs was being used to strengthen the network of terrorists. They said that awareness campaign and conscious of the citizens would save the young population of the country from the clutch of drugs.
The workshop to discuss ‘menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking’ held at auditorium of the SSB frontier headquarter was divided in two sessions. “In first session was for the force personnel of SSB and the second session attended by SSB personnel’s families were addressed by the NCB, Kolkata officials,” said A Bhattacharya, assistant director (PR) of SSB frontier headquarter in Siliguri.
