Purple day observed by Rudraksh in Siliguri

26 Mar 2018

As a part of Purple day, world Epilepsy awareness day, Rudraksh Superspeciality Care of Siliguri has observed the day with balloon rising in Airview More to raise awareness among people regarding the misperception & superstitions regarding epilepsy prevalent in our society.
Purple Day is a global grassroots event focused on raising awareness of epilepsy. The first event was held in 2008 and now occurs annually on March 26.
Consultant Neurologist Dr Joydeep Dey and Dr Arundhati Dasgupta both founder of Rudraksh are organising awareness camps on epilepsy across North Bengal since several years and also observe Purple Day annually in Siliguri.
Dr Dey said that epilepsy is a disorder of the brain that is characterized by recurrent seizures, which are brief episode of involuntary movement that may involve a part of the body by loss of consciousness and control of bowel or bladder function.
Dr Dey and Dasgupta along with Maharaj from Ramkrishna Vedanta Math blew purple balloons to mark the event after awareness programme.
