Regional quality control lab & recreational hall inaugurated

The Regional Quality Control Laboratory and Recreational Hall of TLD-IV Power Station at Regional Office, Siliguri, NHPC Limited was inaugurated today by Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical) NHPC Limited in the presence of S.R. Roy, Executive Director, Siliguri, Sanjay Sarbhoy, General Manager (HR), A.K. Ghosh, General Manager (TLD-IV PS) and other senior officers of NHPC.
NHPC has always been committed to maintain the highest quality in all fields of its work. The Regional Quality Control Laboratory has been established to meet the requirement of various Power Stations in the Region during its civil repair and construction works as well as construction material and survey works of Investigation Projects in Teesta Basin Projects. The Regional Quality Control Laboratory will ensure that the quality of manufactured product or performed service adheres to its specification as per the Indian standard.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Joshi recalled the establishment of Quality Control Laboratory at Salal Power Station which had been immensely beneficial not only to the concerned Power Station but also to other Projects & Power Stations of NHPC. He further emphasized that the young Engineer of NHPC can actually carry out the experiments which they have studied in their academics. He assured that the Laboratory will be expanded in the due course with more sophisticated equipments to cater the need of not only this Region but also the whole of NHPC. He appreciated and thanked the employees for establishing the Laboratory before scheduled time.
During his visit a Recreational Hall “Celebrations” built by TLDP-IV Power Station in the premises of Regional Office, Siliguri was also inaugurated. On this occasion He said that recreational activities are important for the physical and psychological wellbeing of the people. If a person does not take time out from work, stress and other health problems are more apt to arise.
