Tourism minister Gautam Deb met the family members of Mollika Mazumder whose organs saved few lives after her premature demise recently. Deb visited rail colony area of New Jalpaiguri on Wednesdayy and spoke to relatives of Mazumder for a long time. What she has done is rare. Mollika is physically no more among us but she has been living through her organs implanted to other citizens who have received a new life for her,” Deb said.
“We have no word to appreciate such an instance to uphold humanity. We are planning to set up a school in Mollika Mazumder’s memory to keep her contribution immortal. A land is being searched for the purpose,” minister informed. He assured that the state government and Trinamool Congress would extend all sorts of cooperation to family members of Mazumder. It may be mentioned that Siliguri municipal corporation has already announced posthumous special citizenship award to Mazumder.
