A man killed his 22-year-old nephew with a scimitar in West Bengal's Nadia district today during an altercation over spitting. Police said the two familes live next to each other at Baghakhali and shared a bitter relation. Gopal Biswas (40), former BSF personnel, attacked his nephew Pijush Biswas, son of his brother, early today thinking that the young man had spit on the boundary wall between the two houses to spite him. Pijush, who runs a poultry, was washing his face and hands in the morning and had spit near the boundary wall. An angry altercation followed during which Gopal rushed to his room and brought out a scimitar, with which he hit at the young man repeatedly, the police said.
