An injured tigress 'T 70' was shifted to Bhopal's Van Vihar yesterday, three days after it was rescued from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, a Forest official said today. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve field director Mridul Pathak said the three-year-old feline was shifted to Van Vihar to ensure a better treatment for its injuries. The feline was captured on a camera about a week back and a forest patrolling team later spotted it at Khitoli range of the park on June 26. The big cat was tranquilised and doctors, including two from Bhopal's Van Vihar, were called in from other stations for treating it. The doctors later suggested a long-term treatment, saying the wound on T 70's neck was deep and that its condition is critical. "So, it was decided to shift the tigress to Bhopal, given the treatment facilities available in Van Vihar," Pathak added. It seems the big cat suffered injuries either after being trapped in a net or due to a chain fencing put up by the owners of resorts in the area.(PTI)
